Nissan N7 Electric Sedan Set for Global Launch as Affordable Tesla Model S Alternative
Nissan is preparing to take its affordable electric sedan, the N7, beyond China. Positioned as a budget-friendly alternative to the Tesla Model S, the N7 is expected to be exported to other countries soon, with Japan likely being the first international market.
According to CarNewsChina, this family-friendly sedan, currently produced and sold only in China, will soon be available globally. There are also discussions about the vehicle potentially being marketed as the Nissan Primera in some markets.
Developed in collaboration with Dongfeng, the Nissan N7 is particularly highlighted as a more affordable alternative to high-end electric vehicles like the Tesla Model S. In China, its price ranges from 119,900 to 149,900 yuan (approximately $16,500 – $20,800).
Design, Interior, and Technology
The 4.9-meter-long sedan boasts a sleek and aerodynamic design, complemented by slim OLED headlights that enhance its modern aesthetic. Inside, emphasis has been placed on perceived quality, with features like Alcantara upholstery, a digital instrument cluster, and a large 15.6-inch touchscreen offered as standard. The Nissan N7’s infotainment system is powered by DeepSeek AI technology.
Performance and Range
With a generous 504-liter boot capacity, the N7 is designed to meet the needs of families. Higher trim levels offer a panoramic glass roof, electric and massage-function seats, automatic parking assist, and semi-autonomous driving features, making the vehicle both comfortable and technologically advanced.
In terms of performance, the Nissan N7 is a strong contender, available with two different electric motor options: 218 horsepower and 272 horsepower. Equipped with 58 kWh and 73 kWh battery capacities, the Nissan N7 offers a range of 510 to 635 km, depending on the chosen version. Moreover, its fast-charging capability allows the battery to go from 30% to 80% charge in just 14 minutes.
